Kraft Ceramic

The Kraft Ceramic is the short-rod arm of the Kraft range, sold as SB builds: a 9ft 3.5lb, 10ft rods at 3lb and 3.5lb, and an 11ft 3.25lb. The action is progressive rather than the fast taper of the full-length Kraft, engineered for close-quarter control where a fish has to be turned hard under the tip, and Sonik pitches the SB format at boat and confined-swim work.

The headline hardware is the guide train: K-style Seaguide TCG Zirconia ceramic guides in a 40mm pattern, finished with a 16mm Seaguide XUT anti-frap tip ring carrying a Zirconia slimline insert. Ceramic-lined guides earn their keep against braid and hard-worked mainline at short range.

Blank technology carries over from the standard Kraft: high-modulus, low-resin carbon with matt armoured-carbon helix construction and BulletPoint tip construction for quick recovery. The fittings match too, with a CNC-1K carbon DPS-18 reel seat, slim Japanese shrink-wrap butt grip with flared hand-hold, and the laser-etched anodised butt cap. At 9ft to 11ft the range slots between the Xtractor stalkers and the full 12ft-plus rods, covering snaggy margins, small waters, and boat fishing where a 12ft blank is a liability.
