SK-47

The SK-47 continues the SK naming that made Sonik's reputation, following the SK3 and SK4 carp rods that established the brand after 2008. It is the mid-range workhorse of the current catalogue: two 10ft models at 3lb and 3.5lb, three 12ft models at 3lb, 3.25lb, and 3.5lb, a 13ft 3.5lb, and a matching 12ft Spod/Marker rod.

The blank is high-modulus carbon with a multi-directional carbon lay-up in the tip section for casting accuracy, finished in 2K-Axial armoured carbon. The character is power with forgiveness: enough backbone for long-range work off the 3.5lb builds, but a blank that still bends and protects hooklinks in a close-quarter scrap. Guides are super-light M-Series DL black, 40mm pattern on the 10-footers and 50mm elsewhere, with a hard-wearing anti-frap ceramic tip ring. A 17mm black DPS reel seat takes big-pit reels, and the slim Japanese shrink-wrap butt grip finishes with a black anodised, laser-etched butt cap. Sonik's contoured line clip is fitted as standard.

The range sits between the Hero-X and the Kraft: more refined in the blank than the entry rods, without the Kraft's distance-first fast taper, and the length spread covers everything from small lakes to 13ft big-pit work.
