Tenkara Rod Co. has no series structure: the line is four named rods, so the brand doubles as the series. All are carbon-fiber telescopic tenkara rods with 10.25 to 11.25 in handles, sold as packages with sock, tube and the Kebari Kit of line, flies, line holder and tippet.
The Sawtooth (12 ft, 23.5 in closed, 9 segments, 3.2 oz) has a medium action and is the rod the company recommends first; it has handled salmon over 15 lb in Alaska while staying soft enough for 6 in trout. The Sierra (10.5 ft, 20 in closed, 8 segments, 2.8 oz) is a very soft rod for tight water, and the White Cloud (8 ft, 18 in closed, 7 segments, 2.1 oz) is the shortest and softest, aimed at bushy creeks, fish of 6 to 12 in and children.
The Backpackr, launched on Kickstarter in 2025, is the packable triple-zoom: 10'10", 11'10" or 12'10" from a rod that closes to 13.5 in across 14 segments and weighs 2.8 oz. The catalog lists it at its longest setting. Prices run $175 to $295 per package.
