Harpy Clawing

Harpy Clawing began as models intended for release as Raw Dealer Defiance. That release became impossible for a number of reasons, and the rods went back for reworked settings and further testing before appearing under a new name — taken from the Harpyia of myth, the South American harpy eagle, and the knife associated with Dr. Lecter.

The brand describes the design as leaning harder on black, avoiding heavy ornament and contemporary styling in favour of something it expects not to tire of. The blank keeps the all-round performance already developed while adding sharpness and, in the company's words, aggression, with every component updated in the process. Whiplash presents the result as a versatile rod reborn for high-level fishing rather than a niche tool.

Three models are published — a casting pair and a spinning model — with regular and regular-fast tapers.
