Tobizo DBL is the two-piece extension of the Tobizo platform, built for trophy GT and tuna where extended power fights are expected. Zenaq describes a DBL Power Booster construction, a multi-layer carbon build with high-pressure molding intended to hold lifting power through long battles without going overly rigid. The Tuna Monster Buster models use a Monster Blank described as generating recoil as it bends, the aim being to keep pressure on large fish while limiting angler fatigue across hours-long fights.
All three models are 8' or 7'7" spinning blanks at PE 8-12 or above. Hardware tracks the rest of the family: hexagon grip and reel seat on the popping model, metal reel seats and an anti-degradation hexagon rubber grip on the Tuna Monster Buster pair, and an assist guide below the tip to reduce tangles. The two-piece format is positioned for transport and travel without giving up the power needed for marlin-class and large-tuna targets.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 3 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
A limited model at 7'7" with no stated line limit and a 100-180g range. The shorter length and open line rating point it at maximum-pressure work on the largest tuna.
An 8' PE 8-12 Tuna Monster Buster carrying 70-140g, built on the Monster Blank with a metal reel seat and hexagon rubber grip for sustained heavy-tackle tuna fights.
The GT popping model of the DBL set: 8', PE 8-12, rated 120-200g for large poppers, with hexagon grip and reel seat for casting and tip control on heavy plugs.
