The Shakespeare Tiger Spinning Rod is an entry-level freshwater and light inshore rod built for budget-conscious anglers made for catfish, bass, stripers, and general panfish from bank or boat. The glass-construction blank is chosen for toughness instead of sensitivity, making it appropriate as a first rod or a beater stick for rough conditions where loss or damage is a realistic risk. Tubular glass blank construction with stainless steel guides fitted with aluminium oxide inserts, functional components at a price point under $25.
EVA grip handles throughout. No specialised tip or guide design; this is a workhorse rod intended to cast and land fish without fuss. Community reports indicate the blank itself holds up well; the pre-spooled line included in combo versions is generally regarded as a weak point. Two models: a 7' medium-power rod rated 8–15 lb, and a 9' medium-heavy rated 10–20 lb. The 9' model is the more distinctive of the pair, the extended length suits surf or bank catfish anglers needing casting distance and elevated line clearance.
The 7' is a generalist freshwater spinning stick. Both are 2-piece for transport. Casting variants in this series is absent.

The 9' MH is the more purposeful model, extra length for surf or bank catfish fishing where distance and line angle off the bank matter. The step up to MH power handles heavier sinker rigs and larger catfish in the 10–20 lb line range.
