Tiger Spinning Rod
Prior-generation Shakespeare Tiger tubular glass spinning rods (7' Medium and 9' Medium Heavy), replaced in 2026.
The earlier generation of Shakespeare's Tiger spinning rod, which Shakespeare now lists as "Tiger Spinning Rod (Prior Gen)". It was a two-model range on a tubular glass blank: the TIGRSP702M, a 7' two-piece Medium, and the TIGRSP902MH, a 9' two-piece Medium Heavy, sold for catfish, striped bass and other freshwater and saltwater fish.
Shakespeare replaced it in 2026 with Tiger Spinning Rod 2026, a seven-model range from 7' to 12' that reuses both model codes on new rods with published action and lure ratings.

1 of 2 modelsThe 9' MH is the more purposeful model, extra length for surf or bank catfish fishing where distance and line angle off the bank matter. The step up to MH power handles heavier sinker rigs and larger catfish in the 10–20 lb line range.
