The ARK Sniper II is ARK Rods' mid-range bass rod series based on 40-ton high-modulus carbon fiber blanks constructed with Multi-Direction Multi-Layer (MDML) technology. The series serves tournament-level and enthusiast bass anglers who want sensitivity and accuracy across a wide range of freshwater techniques at roughly the $200 price point. ARK is a boutique American rod brand with a following among pro-level bass circuit competitors. Blanks are 40T carbon fiber with MDML layering, which ARK describes as increasing strength and sensitivity relative to standard unidirectional construction.

Guides are ARK Stainless Steel Tangle-Free K-style frames fitted with NanoForce rings, a proprietary ring material ARK claims is 56% lighter, 38% thinner, and 65% stronger than standard ceramic. Handles are AAAA-grade split cork with an ARK custom reel seat. The Sniper II spinning rod actions were specifically updated for Forward-Facing Sonar (FFS) fishing. All rods carry a 5-year limited warranty. The 16-model lineup runs 2 spinning and 14 casting, ranging 6'8" to 7'11" in ML through H power. Casting models heavily dominate; they span ML moderate through H fast in lengths from 6'8" to 7'11".

The two spinning models (SPR68MLFS and SPR74MLFS) are both ML/F and tuned for finesse presentations and FFS applications. The SPR711HFC (7'11" H/F, 50–80 lb) is the longest and heaviest model, a dedicated flipper or frog rod operating well above the standard 10–25 lb range of most series members. Most casting models cluster in the 7'–7'6" MH/F space for broad technique coverage.

Deeper Dive

A closer look at notable models.

SPR68MLFS Spinning · 6'8" · ML · F action

Short ML/F spinning rod updated for FFS (forward-facing sonar) fishing; compact length aids horizontal rod-angle sonar presentations. Rated 4–10 lb for light finesse rigs and small swimbaits.

SPR610MRC Casting · 6'10" · M · M action

Only true moderate-action casting model in the series; 6'10" M/M pairs with 8–14 lb line for crankbait or moving-bait work where a parabolic bend is needed to keep treble hooks in fish during the fight.

SPR70MH Casting · 7' · MH · MF action

MH moderate-fast casting rod covering a wide lure range (1/8–1.5 oz); the extra lure range flexibility compared to similarly-powered fast-action models makes this the versatile search-bait option in the 7' MH grouping.

SPR711HFC Casting · 7'11" · H · F action

Series outlier at 7'11" H power and 50–80 lb line, a dedicated heavy-cover flipping, frogging, or punching stick operating in a completely different weight class than the rest of the MH-dominant lineup.
