Big Game

The Berkley Big Game is a value-tier nearshore/offshore and heavy-freshwater rod made for anglers made for catfish, carp, stripers, and similar large-bodied species without a large budget. Moderate-fast action and MH power make it a usable all-rounder for bait presentations and jigs in the 1–4 oz range; the 8 ft spinning variant adds reach for short-range surf or pier work.

Blanks are tubular fiberglass, that choice prioritizes toughness over sensitivity, keeps cost low, and delivers a forgiving bend under sustained load. Guides are titanium oxide with inserts; the reel seat is graphite for marginal weight savings over full plastic. EVA handles run full-length on the casting models. The lineup splits casting (6'6", 7', 7'6") and spinning (8').

All casting models are MH except the 7'6" which drops to M; actions run moderate to moderate-fast. The 8 ft spinning MH is the only surfable length in the set. No H or XH options, the series tops out at MH. Eight SKUs across two product pages, with older BGC/BGS model codes alongside the newer 112xxxx numbering.
