Expride

Expride is Shimano's mid-tier bass series, sold in both JDM and US markets and positioned below Poison Adrena and Poison Glorious. The line serves tournament and serious club anglers who want one specialized blank per technique without stepping up to the flagship price band. Blanks use Hi-Power X carbon-tape construction wound diagonally to suppress blank twist, paired with a Carbon Monocoque handle that channels vibration directly through the grip for added sensitivity.

Guides are Fuji SiC, and reel seats are Shimano's CI4+ composite. Recent generations added Spiral X Core and Excite Top solid-tip options on selected spinning models. Models begin with EXC (casting) or EXS (spinning), followed by length and power, with a trailing B noting the bass-series generation. Suffixes encode technique: G is a glass-composite blank for treble-hook cranking, S marks solid-tip variants for finesse spinning and finesse cranking, BFS is the bait-finesse build for sub-1/4 oz lures on small baitcasters, P denotes power-spinning blanks for heavier braid-class spinning work, and double letters such as XX and HG combine power class with glass content.
