Zodias is Shimano's JDM-rooted bass series sitting at the entry tier of the brand's premium bass tree above Expride and below Poison Adrena. The lineup runs 78 rods across four sub-series — original-generation Casting (ZDC) and Spinning (ZDS/ZDIS/ZDPS), plus the updated Casting B and Spinning B generations — covering 6'0" through 8'0". Blanks use Shimano Hi-Power X reinforcement to resist twist and ovalization during the cast and fight.
Most models carry a Carbon Monocoque hollow carbon butt with a CI4+ reel seat for transmission of vibration to the palm. Guides are Fuji Alconite K semi-micro frames with a Fuji SiC tip. Manufactured in China. Models are dialed to specific techniques across the bass spectrum, from light spinning finesse and drop shot through medium and medium-heavy casting for jigs, Texas rigs, and reaction baits, up to heavy casting platforms for swimbaits, frogs, and Alabama rigs.

A closer look at notable models.
6'0" fast-action Super Ultra Light spinning rod. Rated 2-6 lb and 1/32-3/16 oz. The lightest power in the series, sized for micro finesse techniques, small drop shot rigs, and 1/32 oz heads on light line where minimal rod weight aids all-day sensitivity.
6'0" fast-action Light power spinning rod. Handles 4-8 lb and 1/16-1/4 oz. A compact light-power option for finesse presentations including small shaky heads and wacky rigs in tight cover conditions where a shorter blank provides better control.
6'0" moderate-fast action Medium Light spinning rod. Rated 6-12 lb and 1/8-3/8 oz. One of three moderate-fast action models in the series; the softer tip aids lure action on reaction-style finesse techniques and reduces the chance of pulling hooks on light-wire hooks.
6'0" fast-action Medium power spinning rod. Handles 8-17 lb and 3/16-1/2 oz. A compact medium-power spinning blank suited to heavier finesse applications and situations calling for a shorter, stiffer spinning rod, such as dockside skipping.
6'4" fast-action Medium Light spinning rod. Rated 6-12 lb and 1/8-3/8 oz. An intermediate length between the 6'0" and 6'6" ML models, offering slightly more reach and casting distance for light finesse rigs without moving to a full 6'6" blank.
6'6" fast-action Medium Light spinning rod. Handles 6-12 lb and 1/8-3/8 oz. A standard finesse spinning length for drop shots, Ned rigs, and light shaky heads in clear-water conditions where light line and a sensitive tip are required.
