Guidepost
Entry ajing series on Advancement-grade Toray carbon: LHR shore and EMR boat models
Guidepost is 34's entry series. The brand states that it shares the Toray carbon and 4-axis cross carbon used in Advancement and saves cost on the guides, grip and finish, the parts it considers least important to catching fish. The name comes from the LHR-62, built as a guide post for anglers new to ajing: a 6'2" two-piece with a straight grip so any reel balances, rated 0.3 to 2 g on 0.9 to 2 lb line, at ¥22,385.
The LHR-57 is a 5'7" short rod with a slow belly and a hard butt, sold in a men's version with a white blank and black grip and a ladies' version with a pink grip and a floral blank. The LHR-69 is the longer all-rounder, from the S-Carry rig down to bare jigheads (0 to 5 g). The LHR-52, added in 2023, is a 5'2" slow-action rod built only for light jigheads of 0.3 to 4 g.
Two boat ajing models carry the F-tuned tip. The EMR-64 is a 6'4" spinning rod rated for vertical sinkers to 30 g, which 34 says fishes to about 60 m with a 30 g sinker and is a little softer from the belly than the Remarkable rods. The EMR-58b is a 5'8" bait rod for sinkers to 60 g in deep water and fast current that also suits ika-metal squid fishing.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 6 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.
