ARK Rods Genesis Series 2-Piece is a travel/packable freshwater spinning lineup built for bass, trout, and panfish anglers who need a 2-piece rod without stepping down from performance-tier construction. The series covers a wide power range, XF light finesse through H heavy bass, within a consistent 2-piece format, making it more versatile than a niche travel series. Blanks are 40T HM carbon fiber reinforced with carbon nanotubes between layers, built using ARK's high-pressure rolling technology.
Fuji K-concept FazLite guides provide tangle resistance and smooth casting. Handle materials are AAAA Portuguese cork paired with high-density EVA, a combination that balances grip feel with weather resistance. One reviewer noted the guide rings at the tip are small, which can create friction with thick knots; this is a practical consideration for the lighter finesse models using braid-to-leader connections. Seven models, all spinning. Lengths are 6' (three models) and 7'–8' (four models).
Powers span L through H across XF, MF, and F actions. The three 6' models cover a broad power range: MF medium, XF medium-light, and XF light, each made for a different finesse tier. The 7' H model is the outlier, covering heavier bass presentations not typical for a 2-piece series. The 8' ML extends reach for bank anglers or river situations.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Lightest model in the series. 2–6 lb line and 1/64 oz minimum lure rating makes this a dedicated finesse tool for small trout, panfish, and drop-shot bass. XF action at L power keeps the tip reactive to subtle bites.
Heaviest model in the series by a significant margin. H power at 7' with 10–20 lb line is unusual for a primarily finesse/spinning lineup. Suited to heavy swimbaits, large swimjigs, or frog fishing where a 2-piece format is needed for travel.
Longest model. The 8' ML suits bank anglers needing additional reach on rivers or ponds, and can double as a light walleye or trout rod for stream fishing. MF action provides some flex for casting lighter lures.
