The ARK Rods Wes Logan Signature Series is a bass fishing rod collection co-designed with Bassmaster Elite Series pro Wes Logan, tuned around the techniques Logan employs on the tournament circuit. The series addresses a specific style: precise, high-sensitivity work with jigs, Texas rigs, and finesse presentations that require feeling subtle bottom changes and suppressed bites. Punch rigs, or swimbaits, the heaviest models top at H power for flipping. Construction uses 40-ton high-modulus carbon with carbon nanotube reinforcement between fiber layers, a construction that increases inter-laminar shear strength and translates to a lighter blank at equivalent stiffness.
ARK NanoForce guides with proprietary inserts reduce line resistance during casting. Reel seat is ARK's Team ARK design. Handle is AAA-grade cork throughout, long split-grip format. Build quality and value are frequently cited positives in reviews; a blank-spinning-in-grip issue has been reported on at least one unit after a season of use. Nine casting models and two spinning models make up the eleven-rod lineup. Casting spans 6'–7'6" in M, MH, and H power with M and F actions, covering jig and worm fishing from compact pitching sticks to longer flip rods.
The two spinning models (WES70MLXS and WES72MXS) are both XF action, tuned for drop-shot and Damiki rig. The WES70MLXS is nicknamed "Desperation" for light-line finesse; WES72MXS adds a half-inch and M power for slightly heavier spinning applications.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Shortest casting model at 6' MH / M action, a compact pitch-and-flip stick for close-quarters docks and laydowns where a 7-footer is awkward. M action keeps it versatile for jigs and light Texas rigs.
Longest and heaviest casting model, H power fast action for flipping heavier cover.
Named "Desperation", the primary drop-shot and Damiki-rig tool in the series. XF action at ML power transmits even slight resistance on finesse presentations. Shaped around Logan's light-line tournament approach.
Companion spinning model at M power, steps up to 6–12lb and 1/8–5/8oz for NED rigs, shaky heads, and heavier finesse presentations where the ML model runs out of backbone.
