The Douglas Outdoors XMatrix DXS lineup is a 17-rod spinning and centerpin collection built on a proprietary multi-modulus carbon matrix blank with a matte platinum finish. The series spans 6'8" finesse sticks up to 13'6" centerpin float rods, covering bass, walleye, inshore, salmon, and steelhead applications. Design was led by pro angler Fred Contaoi.
Components include Fuji reel seats, Fuji alconite guides with a CC corrosion-resistant finish and ceramic inserts, high-density EVA grips, and graphite reel-seat inserts. Blanks are engineered for a high strength-to-weight ratio and crisp tip recovery. The longer DXP centerpin models add float-friendly guide trains and welded tip-tops to manage line on long drifts.
The lineup breaks into three functional groups: short to mid-length finesse and all-purpose bass spinning rods, longer-handled inshore and multi-species rods, and dedicated centerpin float platforms for salmon and steelhead. All carry a limited lifetime warranty.
