The Compre Salmon/Steelhead BC Casting series consists of two 10'6" two-piece baitcasting rods built specifically for mooching salmon and steelhead. Both models share a slow action that loads smoothly under sustained pressure, and the blanks are constructed to be durable yet lightweight for extended sessions on the water. Hardware throughout includes a Fuji reel seat and AAA cork handles sized for baitcasting rigs.
Guide frames are sloped-design SeaGuide with Zirconia inserts, which add hardness at the guide ring surface while keeping friction low during the cast and retrieve. The 3-inch foregrip on both models supports a two-handed mooching grip common in Pacific salmon fisheries. MSRP is $99.99 for each rod in the lineup.
The medium model (CPCL106M2) is rated for 12-20 lb monofilament and 3/4-1 1/2 oz lures, covering lighter bait rigs and smaller presentations. The medium-heavy (CPCL106MH2) steps up to 12-25 lb line and 3/4-2 oz, providing additional backbone for heavier bait setups or larger fish.
