COMPRE SALMON/STEELHEAD TROLLING
Heavy-class moderate-action trolling rods in 9 to 10'6 lengths for Pacific salmon on downriggers
The Compre Salmon/Steelhead Trolling series consists of three 2-piece moderate-action baitcasting rods in 9-foot, 9-foot-6-inch, and 10-foot-6-inch lengths, all rated heavy class for 10-30 lb line and 1-6 oz. This uniform rating across the series targets Pacific salmon trolling scenarios with downriggers, divers, and flasher-and-bait rigs. The trolling rods use a carbon tube handle construction for reduced weight and improved sensitivity to lure action while trolling.
The SeaGuide Zirconia guides carry the same sloped-frame construction as the rest of the Compre Salmon/Steelhead lineup. A 14.8-inch rear grip and the carbon tube handle give solid purchase on the rod when fighting fish against downrigger or diver resistance. All three models share a moderate action that loads the blank through the mid-section, providing a visual indicator of lure action while underway.
All three are priced at $99.99. The series covers the common lengths used in Pacific Northwest and Great Lakes salmon trolling spread configurations.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 3 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
All 3 models9-foot, heavy class, moderate action. 10-30 lb line, 1-6 oz. The shortest and most maneuverable of the three, useful as a short diver rod or when working in close quarters on a smaller vessel. 5-inch foregrip.
9-foot-6, heavy class, moderate action. 10-30 lb line, 1-6 oz. Mid-length option covering standard offshore and Great Lakes trolling setups. 7-inch foregrip, same handle spec as the 10-6. The slight length advantage over the 9-foot model adds sweep during fish-fighting.
10-foot-6, heavy class, moderate action. 10-30 lb line, 1-6 oz. The longest trolling model in the series, providing the most reach for port-to-port rod spread management. 7-inch foregrip, 14.8-inch carbon tube grip. Best suited to inside and outside positions in a multi-rod trolling spread.
