The Convergence Ice Spinning series covers hard-water fishing from the lightest panfish and perch presentations through medium-heavy and heavy setups for pike and walleye. Nine models span 28 to 42 inches, providing options for sitting in a heated shelter as well as reaching down through a hole on a windy open flat. All rods carry Zirconia guides; UL, L, and ML models add lightweight coil guides to reduce line freeze and improve line flow in cold conditions.
UL and ML models feature a custom-shaped AA Cork Tennessee handle with an orange, high-visibility tip section for detecting subtle bites when fish are lethargic. The 40 MHA and 42 HA models shift to a flat custom-cut EVA rear grip that braces against the forearm during the fight with larger fish. The hook keeper on every model is positioned farther from the reel seat than typical, leaving room for direct finger placement on the blank for improved sensitivity during the deadstick and jigging presentations common to ice fishing.
All models retail at $39.99. The three 28-inch blanks in ML, M, and MH cover the most common hole-sitting scenarios. A 30-inch UL, 32-inch L, and 34-inch ML provide additional reach for deeper water or when fishing standing. The 36-inch M, 40-inch MH, and 42-inch H anchor the heavier end for pike and larger walleye.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
28-inch Medium fast-action, 6-10 lb mono. Same compact 28-inch length as the ML but rated for heavier line and larger presentations. AA Cork handle with Zirconia guides only. Suited for walleye and larger panfish in a shelter setup.
28-inch Medium Heavy fast-action, 8-12 lb mono. The stoutest of the three 28-inch models, built for jigging heavier presentations for walleye or smaller pike in tight quarters. AA Cork handle with Zirconia guides.
28-inch Medium Light fast-action, 2-6 lb mono. Compact shelter rod for crappie and perch at standard hole-fishing depth. AA Cork Tennessee handle with coil and Zirconia guides. Orange hi-viz tip aids bite detection during slow conditions.
30-inch Ultra Light fast-action, 2-4 lb mono. Shortest dedicated UL in the series, suited for finesse panfish presentations with tiny jigs and waxworms. Coil and Zirconia guide combination. AA Cork Tennessee handle with orange hi-viz tip.
32-inch Light fast-action, 2-6 lb mono. Mid-length light rod that adds a few inches of reach over the 30 UL. Handles small tungsten jigs through light spoons for crappie, perch, and trout. Coil and Zirconia guides, AA Cork Tennessee handle with hi-viz tip.
34-inch Medium Light fast-action, 2-6 lb mono. The longest ML in the lineup gives added reach for deeper water jigging while keeping the light tip needed for finesse presentations. Coil and Zirconia guides, AA Cork Tennessee handle with hi-viz tip.
36-inch Medium fast-action, 6-10 lb mono. Steps into walleye and sauger territory with a full 3-foot blank. Zirconia guides only. The extra length relative to the 28-inch M suits open-ice fishing or deeper holes where additional rod angle is useful.
40-inch Medium Heavy fast-action, 8-12 lb mono. One of two models with a flat custom-cut EVA rear grip for bracing against the forearm during heavy fish fights. Zirconia guides. Rated for pike, larger walleye, and lake trout on heavier jigging spoons.
42-inch Heavy fast-action, 8-17 lb mono. The longest and heaviest model in the series. Flat EVA rear grip provides leverage for fighting large pike. Handles the heaviest jigs, large tip-up setups converted to rod use, and heavy flutter spoons for lake trout.
