The Ocea Plugger Full Throttle is Shimano's conventional-tier offshore popping and plugging series, using Spiral X and Hi-Power X blank construction. Spiral X wraps carbon tape diagonally in opposing directions around a vertical fiber core, reducing blank twist and improving power transmission on the cast and during the fight. Hi-Power X adds a further layer of diagonally wrapped tape on the outside of the blank in an X pattern, reducing ovalization under heavy loads and providing added resistance to blank failure.

The series predates the Full Throttle A and Big Game lines and carries a more reinforced mid-section compared to earlier iterations. Fuji SiC guides provide the guide train, and a custom EVA grip completes the hardware package. At $599.99 the series sits below the Full Throttle A in the Shimano offshore plug rod hierarchy.

In the North American market only a single model appears in the current lineup: the OCPFT103XXHB at 10'3" in XXH power with a fast action. Lure weight capacity runs 10-21 oz, placing it in heavy surface-iron territory for large tuna. The two-piece format allows standard transport and storage.
