The Scimitar Salmon/Steelhead Trolling series is a five-rod lineup of moderate-action baitcasting rods covering 8-foot-6-inch through 10-foot-6-inch lengths for Pacific salmon trolling. All models use a carbon tube handle, Titanium Oxide guides compatible with braided line, and cork foregrips. The 2-piece configuration allows easy transport for boat anglers. Pricing is uniform at $59.99.
The series splits into medium-heavy and heavy-class models. The 8-foot-6 and 10-foot MH models are rated for 10-20 lb line and 1/2-4 oz, covering medium-depth trolling with smaller divers and squids. The 9-foot, 9-foot-6, and 10-foot-6 H models handle 10-30 lb line and 1-6 oz loads for deeper downrigger work with large flashers and bait rigs. Foregrips run 5-7 inches depending on length.
The series is the trolling counterpart to the Scimitar Casting and Float sub-lines. It sits below the Technium Trolling B and Compre Trolling series in Shimano's salmon and steelhead rod hierarchy.
