Sellus

The Shimano Sellus is a freshwater bass series based on a lightweight 24-ton graphite blank. Shimano reinforces the lower section of the blank with diagonal carbon tape wraps it calls DIAFLASH, which the company describes as reducing twist and energy loss during the cast and hookset. Components include aluminum oxide guides, a custom Shimano reel seat, and hybrid cork-and-EVA split grips on most models.

The lineup splits into casting rods coded SUC and spinning rods coded SUS, with length and power encoded in the suffix. Shimano positions Sellus as a value tier offering tournament-style component spec at a moderate price. The series is based on technique-tuned actions for the common bass categories: crankbait, spinnerbait, topwater, worm and jig, and flipping.

Casting models lean toward fast-action moving-bait and bottom-contact work, while spinning models cover finesse worm and jig, shakey head, and lighter hardbait presentations.
