SLX

The Shimano SLX A series is a 23-model bass rod lineup of casting and spinning blanks. Construction uses a 24-ton carbon blank with DIAFLASH carbon tape wrapped diagonally in opposing directions at the butt to limit twist under load. Components include titanium-oxide guides, a custom reel seat, and split-grip EVA handles, with full-grip EVA on the swimbait models.

Model codes follow a pattern. SLXC denotes standard casting actions. SLXCX adds the extra-fast tip designation for finesse and reaction baits. The GA suffix marks moderate-action models intended for treble-hook baits. SBA denotes specialized swimbait blanks at 7'3" MH and 7'8" H. Spinning models use SLXS for fast-action and SLXSX for extra-fast. Casting power runs from ML through XH equivalents in the swimbait class, with lure windows from 3/16 oz on the lightest casting model up to 2 to 8 oz on the 7'8" swimbait stick.

Spinning rods cover ML to MH with 4 to 20 lb line and 1/16 to 3/4 oz lures. Actions are matched to technique, with extra-fast on finesse and reaction sticks and moderate on cranking and bladed-jig setups.
