TALAVERA BOAT CASTING
Fast-action saltwater casting rods for heavy inshore and light offshore boat fishing
The Talavera Boat Casting series mirrors the Boat Spinning lineup in construction and application, offering five conventional casting rods for heavy inshore and light offshore fishing from a boat. All models use fast action blanks, SeaGuide Zirconia guides, EVA grips, and oversized Fuji reel seats designed to work with larger conventional and baitcast reels. The casting-specific design adds a trigger grip configuration and foregrip dimensions optimized for thumb-on-spool control during casting and fighting.
Length options are 6'6" and 7'0". The 6'6" models cover medium-heavy, heavy, and extra-heavy power ratings, giving the casting series a wider top-end power range than the spinning counterpart. The 7'0" models come in medium-heavy and heavy. This configuration allows anglers to select between more leverage and control at 6'6" or additional reach at 7'0", depending on technique and species targeted. All models are priced at $119.99.
The extra-heavy 6'6" model (TEC66XHC) is unique to the casting series and extends the lineup's utility toward heavier conventional trolling applications and large live-bait presentations. The Fuji reel seat dimensions accommodate the larger footprints common on saltwater conventional reels, a practical consideration when fishing heavier drags for cobia, striped bass, or nearshore amberjack.

Model notes
All 5 models6'6" medium-heavy casting rod with fast action. The compact length suits pitching live baits or lures around structure where maneuverability matters. Medium-heavy power handles most nearshore species without overgunning lighter presentations. Paired with an oversized Fuji seat to accommodate larger conventional reels.
6'6" heavy casting rod with fast action. A step up in power from the medium-heavy model, suited for heavier lures, larger baits, and species like cobia and striped bass that require stronger lifting capability. Retains the same compact 6'6" platform for use in tighter fishing situations.
6'6" extra-heavy casting rod with fast action. The most powerful model in the Talavera Boat Casting lineup and unique to the casting series. Handles the heaviest lures and live baits in the lineup and provides maximum leverage for big inshore or nearshore species on heavier conventional tackle.
7'0" medium-heavy casting rod with fast action. Adds 6 inches of length over the 6'6" medium-heavy model, improving casting distance and line control when working from a larger boat deck. A versatile option for throwing jigs or presenting live baits in open water for a range of coastal species.
7'0" heavy casting rod with fast action. The longer, heavier model in the 7-foot casting pair. Suited for heavy jigs, large live baits, and targeted work on species requiring more rod power at range. The 7-foot length aids presentation distance and provides additional leverage during the fight.
