The Talavera Type J Spinning series targets anglers who fish with a conventional speed-jigging tempo rather than the slow-pitch approach. All four models are 6'0" single-piece spinning rods with fast action, designed to load and unload quickly so the jig pitches aggressively upward with each rod stroke. Compared to the Talavera Type Slow J blanks, these rods have a faster load and release, which suits the shorter, sharper strokes of speed jigging. Powers range from Light to Medium Heavy, all at the same $119.99 price point.
Construction includes SeaGuide Zirconia guides and high-density EVA grips. The 6-inch foregrip is notably longer than the Slow J Casting counterpart, accommodating the two-handed pumping motion common in speed jigging with a spinning outfit. Grip lengths taper from 17.4 inches on the Light and Medium-Light models down to 16.5 inches on Medium and Medium-Heavy, accounting for the balance shift as blank stiffness increases.
