The Talavera Type Slow J Casting series is built specifically around slow-pitch jigging technique, a methodical presentation style that relies on the blank loading and unloading at a controlled tempo to generate an erratic, flutter-and-fall jig action. Three 6'6" casting models in Medium Light, Medium, and Medium Heavy power cover the range of jig weights and target species commonly encountered in slow-pitch applications. All three carry a moderate-fast action and are fitted with SeaGuide Zirconia guides on a high-density EVA grip.

The parabolic load characteristic of these blanks is a deliberate design feature. A slow-pitch jig fished with a stiffer, faster-loading rod loses much of its action; the Talavera Type Slow J blanks are tuned to flex progressively and release energy in a way that maximizes jig flutter on the fall, the phase during which most strikes occur. The 16.3-inch rear grip accommodates two-handed leverage for extended fishing sessions.
