The Tallus Roller Stripper series uses TC4 blank construction to keep weight low in a stand-up format designed for sustained heavy-fish encounters. TC4 is Shimano's designation for a high-modulus carbon composite that provides a favorable strength-to-weight ratio in heavy bluewater blanks. All four models share a 5'9" length and Fast action, and each carries an AFTCO roller stripper guide at the base of the blank combined with a roller tip top. This two-roller configuration reduces friction and heat buildup from braided or monofilament mainlines under the heavy, sustained pressure typical of tuna, swordfish, and large grouper fishing.
The intentionally slower feel relative to a rigid stand-up design is built into the blank to reduce angler fatigue during extended fights. While the action rating is Fast, the TC4 construction and the roller hardware combine to distribute load across the mid-section of the blank, softening the cumulative stress on the angler compared to stiffer glass or composite alternatives. Slick Butt rear grips are standard across all models, providing a low-friction fighting surface for gimbal use.
Four power ratings span Medium Heavy through Extra Extra Heavy, all at 5'9" and sharing a 10-inch foregrip and 12.5-inch grip section.
