The Talora Downrigger is built on a TC4 blank construction, a composite layering process that produces a blank with consistent backbone and controlled tip flex across all six models. Actions are calibrated specifically for freshwater downrigger, Dipsy Diver, planer board, and leadcore trolling, with moderate-fast tapers that load smoothly under sustained trolling pressure while maintaining enough tip sensitivity to register strikes at depth.
Guides are SeaGuide aluminum oxide throughout, a corrosion-resistant ring material suited to extended freshwater trolling use. Grip material is EVA foam with a 12.2-inch rear grip length on all models; the two 8'6" models feature a slightly longer 6-inch foregrip for additional rod angle control behind the transom. The 7-foot models are single-piece; all 8-foot and 8'6" models are two-piece for transport convenience.
Line ratings run from 8-15 lb on the lightest medium-light model up to 15-30 lb on the 8'6" medium-heavy, covering the full spread of mono and fluorocarbon weights commonly run behind downrigger balls and diving planers on Great Lakes and inland reservoir trolling setups. Shimano pairs this series with the Tekota conventional reel line for a complete matched trolling system.

8'6", two-piece, medium-heavy power. Line class 15-30 lb makes this the heaviest model in the series, appropriate for deep-water leadcore or large diving planers pulling significant resistance. The MH blank provides the backbone to maintain lure depth and fight larger fish.
