TECHNIUM CASTING B

The Technium Casting B is built on a blank that combines TC4 glass and graphite carbon, a construction method Shimano uses across the Technium line to balance sensitivity with resistance to breakage under hard casts or fish pressure. The blank rolls out with a high strength-to-weight ratio, keeping swing weight manageable across a day of repeated casting on the river. Guide trains are Fuji O-ring frames throughout, and handles are AAA cork with a 14-inch rear grip and a short foregrip that ranges from 3.5 to 4.5 inches depending on model.

The casting lineup covers two distinct length and action pairings. The 9-foot models use a Fast action and are optimized for tighter, more direct presentations - carrying 8–12 lb mono on the Medium and 8–17 lb on the Medium Heavy. The 10'6" models shift to a Moderate Fast taper, which slows the recovery enough to load at range and work larger lures up to 2 ounces on the Medium Heavy variant.

All five models break into two pieces and share the baitcasting reel seat configuration common to the Technium B generation. The 9'6" Medium Heavy fills the gap between the two 9-foot and 10'6" lengths, offering the same Fast action as the 9-foot rods with marginally extended reach for anglers working mid-sized water from the bank.
