The Teramar SE B spinning series represents an updated generation of a long-running Southeast inshore platform. Shimano built each blank with TC4 construction and fitted the guide train with SeaGuide zirconia guides balanced for improved overall rod weight distribution. Traditional cork grips with a refined cosmetic replace earlier handle configurations. Heavy power models and above include a rubber gimbal, adding security in a rod holder and providing belt leverage when fighting larger coastal gamefish.
The lineup spans 6'6" to 8'0" with power ratings from Medium Light through Extra Extra Heavy, covering line classes from 6-10 lb on the lightest finesse models to 20-40 lb on the heaviest surf and tarpon configurations. Action choices include Moderate Fast and Extra Fast across the mid-range models, with Fast on the 8-foot heavy-power blanks. Lure weight ranges run 1/8-3/16 oz at the light end to 2-5 oz at the top.
Species addressed across the lineup include speckled seatrout, redfish, flounder, cobia, and tarpon. The broad power spread allows anglers to select a rod matched to specific technique and water type - from light-line finesse on clear flats to popping corks under mangroves and heavy live bait work on the nearshore edge.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
6'6" Medium Heavy, Extra Fast, 10-20 lb, 3/8-1.5 oz. A short, stout configuration for working heavier jigs or soft plastics at close range. The XF action delivers sharp hooksets in cover-heavy redfish and trout scenarios.
6'6" Medium, Extra Fast, 8-16 lb, 1/4-3/4 oz. Compact model suited to skipping and pitching under tight cover. The XF tip provides fast feedback on light artificials in shallow water where precision placement outweighs casting distance.
7'0" Medium, Moderate Fast, 8-16 lb, 1/4-3/4 oz. The MF action provides a more progressive load compared to the XF version, making it useful for popping corks and live shrimp presentations where the softer tip helps avoid pulling hooks on light-mouthed fish.
7'0" Medium Heavy, Moderate Fast, 10-20 lb, 3/8-1.5 oz. The Moderate Fast action softens the tip for live bait presentations and popping corks without sacrificing the backbone needed to move heavier redfish and cobia away from structure.
7'0" unlisted power, Moderate Fast, 15-30 lb, 1/2-2 oz. A heavier live-bait and general-purpose model positioned between the MH and XH range. The MF action aids in managing live mullet and croaker presentations while retaining enough power for larger redfish and early-run tarpon.
7'0" Medium, Extra Fast, 8-16 lb, 1/4-3/4 oz. The XF version of the 7'0" Medium; faster tip response for casting and working artificial lures with more precise cadence control. Direct pairing for anglers who prefer sensitivity over compliance.
7'0" Medium Heavy, Extra Fast, 10-20 lb, 3/8-1.5 oz. The counterpart to the MF version for anglers working large soft plastics, swimbaits, or jerkbaits that require a stiffer tip load and faster hookset on longer casts.
7'0" Medium Light, Extra Fast, 6-10 lb, 1/8-3/16 oz. The lightest model in the SE spinning series. Designed for finesse presentations on clear flats - small jig heads, light paddletails, and weedless soft plastics on spooky seatrout and redfish.
7'6" Medium Light, Moderate Fast, 6-10 lb, 1/8-3/16 oz. Additional length over the 7'0" ML for improved line pickup and added casting distance on finesse presentations. Suited to poling skiff scenarios on open flats where casting range matters.
7'6" Medium, Moderate Fast, 8-16 lb, 1/4-3/4 oz. A versatile all-around length for wade fishing and boat fishing over grass flats. The MF action handles both live shrimp under corks and mid-weight artificials with the same setup.
7'6" Medium Heavy, Extra Fast, 10-20 lb, 3/8-1.5 oz. Adds casting range and a sharper tip to the MH power class. Suited to working large paddletails, swimbaits, and poppers at greater distances from structure or from the bow of a flats boat.
7'6" Medium Heavy, Moderate Fast, 10-20 lb, 3/8-1.5 oz. Extended reach combined with a softer tip entry for live bait work at longer distances. The 10-inch cork grip provides comfortable handling during long wade sessions targeting cobia and bull redfish.
7'6" Medium, Extra Fast, 8-16 lb, 1/4-3/4 oz. Same length and class as the MF model but with a sharper tip for working soft plastics and hard jerkbaits that require precise rod movement and faster hookset response at distance.
8'0" Extra Extra Heavy, Fast, 20-40 lb, 2-5 oz. The heaviest model in the SE spinning series, includes rubber gimbal. Rated for large lures and heavy line class needed for tarpon, giant redfish, and other high-endurance nearshore targets fished with serious tackle.
8'0" Extra Heavy, Fast, 15-30 lb, 3/4-3 oz. Includes rubber gimbal. The first of two heavy nearshore models; handles large live baits, heavy topwaters, and cut bait for tarpon and large cobia. The gimbal enables belt-fighting during extended battles.
