TIRALEJO XX
Surf casting rods covering 9'6" to 12'0" for lures and baits 3/4-6 oz
The Tiralejo XX is Shimano's flagship surf casting series, built on Spiral X and Hi-Power X blank construction. Spiral X layers diagonally opposing carbon tape wraps around a vertical fiber core, reducing torsional and compressional flex during heavy casts. Hi-Power X adds a diagonally wrapped outer tape layer to further resist ovalization when the rod is under load from large fish in strong current. Fuji SiC guides run the full length of each blank, and a Fuji DPS reel seat with a locking nut secures spinning reels under the repeated stress of distance casting with heavy baits. Shrink tube grips keep weight low while maintaining grip in wet surf conditions.
Six models cover a length range from 9'6" to 12'0" in two pieces. Power ratings span Medium to Heavy with actions from Moderate to Fast. Lure weights run 3/4-6 oz across the lineup, and PowerPro line ratings span 20-65 lb braid depending on the model.
The combination of lengths, powers, and actions addresses a range of surf-casting scenarios: shorter, lighter models for tighter beach access and smaller presentations; longer, heavier models for maximum casting distance with heavier metal and bait rigs in larger surf.
Shaded band: the spread of the lineup's 6 models, as percentile rank among same-type rods. Solid line = series median · dashed ring = catalog median.

Model notes
All 6 models9'6" two-piece in Medium power with a Moderate Fast action and 3/4-3 oz lure range. The shortest and lightest model in the series. Suited to tighter beach access where a longer rod is impractical, and to lighter metal lures and smaller cut baits on 20-40 lb braid.
10'0" two-piece in Medium Heavy power with a Moderate action and 1-4 oz lure range. The only Moderate (not Moderate Fast) action in the series, providing a slower loading arc that benefits heavier bait presentations and longer parabolic casts. Line rating steps up to 30-50 lb.
10'6" two-piece in Medium power with a Moderate Fast action and 1-3.5 oz lure range. Added length over the 9'6" model for improved casting distance at a similar power rating. The 5.5" foregrip is slightly shorter than other models in the series, trimming overall handle weight.
11'0" two-piece in Medium Heavy power with a Moderate Fast action and 2-6 oz lure range. Steps up to the upper end of the series' lure range at the longer format. The 23" rear grip accommodates two-handed casting technique at distance. Line capacity rated 30-50 lb braid.
11'0" two-piece in Heavy power with a Fast action and 3-6 oz lure range. The stiffest 11-foot option in the lineup. Fast action provides more direct tip response for working hard lures and setting hooks at range. Line rating extends to 40-65 lb braid, the highest in the series.
12'0" two-piece in Medium Heavy power with a Moderate Fast action and 2-6 oz lure range. The longest model in the series, designed to maximize casting distance from the beach or jetty. The 24" rear grip supports full two-handed loading. Line rating matches other MH models at 30-50 lb braid.
