The Stowaway Travel Spinning Rod is Toadfish's flagship travel rod system, designed for anglers who need a functional, packable inshore saltwater rod for flights and vehicle travel. The target user is a saltwater angler making destination trips, Florida, the Caribbean, the Gulf Coast, who cannot bring full-length rods and refuses to fish with a compromised backup stick. The system's modular design is its primary differentiator in a crowded travel rod market. The core concept is a 3-piece rod with 5 interchangeable sections (1 handle, 2 mid-sections, 2 tip-sections) allowing 4 distinct rod configurations from one travel tube.
Blanks are 40-ton high-carbon graphite, claimed 25% lighter than the original Stowaway. Fuji K-Series tangle-free guides handle salt conditions. The reel seat is a threadless carbon design. Soft-touch rubber inlays on the all-carbon handle provide grip in wet conditions. Spigot ferrule joints are used throughout to maintain a near-one-piece feel. The rod packs into a crush-proof carbon fiber travel tube sized for overhead bins. Each sale funds oyster bed restoration. The lineup splits on base length and mid-section power range: TF7909 is 6'8" with M and ML mid-sections included; TF7910 is 7'2" with M and MH mid-sections.
The 6'8" is the lighter-duty kit; the 7'2" adds reach and a heavier mid for more substantial inshore work and lures up to ~1 oz. Both share two tip-section options (moderate and fast action). Pricing is ~$158 after a sale discount from $248.

A closer look at notable models.
The 6'8" kit includes M and ML mid-sections, making it the lighter-duty travel configuration, suited to finesse inshore work, 1/8–3/8 oz artificials, redfish on flats, and tight casting situations. The collapsed sections (~31" tube) fit carry-on overhead bins on most airlines.
The 7'2" kit includes M and MH mid-sections, extending reach and adding power for larger species, heavier lures (up to 1 oz), and open-water casting. The MH mid-section pairs well with the fast-action tip for jerkbaits and topwater on larger inshore serves.
