The Fenwick Elite Inshore is a saltwater-specific spinning rod built for nearshore and inshore species: snook, redfish, speckled trout, and similar. It sits in the upper-mid tier of Fenwick's lineup, using higher-grade materials than the HMX line while stopping short of flagship pricing. Target angler is a serious inshore fisherman who wants quality components in a dedicated saltwater-rated platform. Blank construction blends 36-ton and 30-ton graphite with a proprietary reinforcing resin through a Carbon Core process, an inner spiral-wrapped carbon layer plus outer rolled layers.

This construction aims to improve sensitivity without sacrificing torsional strength under side loads. Guides are Fuji K-Frame with Alconite inserts (braid-compatible, lighter than SiC). Reel seat is Sea-Guide XSS with DAN-style lock nut, more corrosion-resistant than standard freshwater hardware. The soft-touch reel seat integrates tactile feedback into the handle design. Two models in this subset, both 8'0" with fast action: ELIN80H-FS at H power (3/4–3 oz, 12–25 lb) and ELIN80XH-FS at XH power (2–5 oz, 20–40 lb).

The H model is the standard inshore spinning setup, covers most lure sizes for redfish and snook in grass and structure. The XH is for heavy presentation work: large plugs, heavy jigs, and live or cut bait where pulling power matters more than lure feel.

ELIN80XH-FS Spinning · 8' · XH · F action

Extra-heavy at 8 ft is a dedicated heavy-bait inshore tool, large topwater plugs, live bait under a popping cork, and big jigs in wind. The 20–40 lb range places this firmly in braided main-line territory for pulling fish from heavy cover.
