The Matrix Shad series is Fitzgerald's most specialized inshore offering: two rods at $159.99 developed with Chas Champagne of Matrix Shad, a Louisiana-based soft plastic manufacturer. Both models are Medium power targeting speckled trout, redfish, and flounder in shallow coastal marshes and bays.
The MS64M (6'4" M Fast casting, 8-20 lb, 1/4-5/8 oz) is a compact conventional model suited to baitcaster presentations in tight marsh cover. The MS70MS (7'0" M Fast spinning, 8-20 lb, 1/4-5/8 oz) covers the same lure and line range on spinning tackle for finesse presentations. The shared specs between the two reflect a design intent to give anglers equivalent performance across rod styles for the same matrix-shad style lures.
