The Titan HD is a five-rod casting series built around Fitzgerald's proprietary balance system, which shifts the rod's center of gravity rearward to reduce wrist and forearm load during high-repetition pitching. Tournament flipping specialists who execute hundreds of pitches per day are the target user. At $299.99, it is the highest-priced freshwater casting series in the lineup.
All five models are rated for 20-80 lb braid with Heavy or Extra-Heavy power and Fast action, spanning 7'6" to 7'10". The XH models (THD76XH and THD78XH) are rated for 3/4-3 oz, while the H models (THD76H and THD78H) handle up to 2-2.5 oz; the overlap in lure weight between H and XH models reflects their intended use with varying punch-rig tungsten weights in heavy cover.

The Titan HD balance system sets this rod apart from a standard 7'6" XH flipper. By repositioning the center of gravity several inches rearward toward the reel seat, Fitzgerald reduces the effective swing weight felt at the wrist during each pitch. Tournament anglers who execute 300-500 pitches per session consistently report reduced forearm fatigue compared to conventional XH blanks of the same length. The 20-80 lb braid and 3/4-3 oz lure range covers punch-rig fishing with 1-1.5 oz tungsten through heavy mat as well as standard flipping with 3/4 oz weights in lighter cover. The XH power provides the hinge needed to pull large bass through thick vegetation without the blank loading past its design range.
