Kestrel Finesse Casting

BFS (Bait Finesse System) casting series designed for ultra-light lure presentations on baitcasting gear, a technique borrowed from Japanese tenkara and light bass fishing that pairs micro lures (down to 1/64 oz) with low-spool-inertia reels. Target angler is a freshwater finesse fisherman working bass, trout, panfish, or walleye with small jigs, micro crankbaits, and drop shot setups on light line (1–12 lb depending on model). Not suitable for heavier bass applications or saltwater.

Blanks are IM8 ultra-high modulus graphite rolled with nano resin, a step above the IM6 used in KastKing's mainstream rod lines. Guides are American Tackle Ti forged with aluminum oxide Duralight rings, lighter and harder than standard stainless guide frames. American Tackle VIBE2 reel seats. Carbon fiber fighting butt and foregrip keep weight down for extended light-line sessions. The 3-piece models (notably the 6'8" and 6'9") accommodate travel or transport alongside the standard 2-piece majority.

All eight are casting rods; Spinning counterpart in this specific set is absent. Lengths span 5'9"–7'2". Power ranges UL to ML, maintaining the BFS focus. The UL models at 5'9"–6'3" represent the ultra-micro end (1/64–1/4 oz); the 6'4"–7'2" ML models extend usability toward slightly heavier finesse baits (up to 1/2 oz).
