The Zephyr Dual-Tip Spinning series serves freshwater anglers who want a single rod that can cover two power brackets by swapping tip sections. Each rod ships with two interchangeable tips, each clearly labeled at the joint, allowing the angler to shift between a lighter and heavier presentation without carrying a second rod. Intended users include multi-species anglers, travelers, or anyone fishing varied conditions in a single outing where panfish and light bass, or trout and walleye, might share the water.
Blanks are KastFlex IM6 graphite, a mid-tier modulus material that prioritizes durability and sensitivity at a budget price point. Guides are stainless steel frames with Zirconium oxide rings, providing smooth line flow and 360-degree protection. KastKing's PTS (Power Transition System) construction is a 2-piece design intended to behave like a 1-piece rod through blank geometry. Handle is high-density black EVA throughout, no cork. A drop-shot hook keeper is built in behind the handle.
All spinning. MSRP ranges approximately $60–$65. The 11-model lineup covers 5'–7'4" in UL/L and ML/MH pairings. Models are designated by their primary action-power (the 'heavier' tip is listed in the SKU suffix as the standard configuration). The GN-suffix models appear to be green accents; BK-suffix are black. The -C suffix likely denotes a combo-included version. Range spans UL MF for small-water panfish up to 7'4" MH for light inshore or bass applications.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
Shortest and lightest model. 5' UL with moderate-fast action is a trout and panfish rod for small creeks or streams. The dual-tip concept is most useful here, one tip for 1-2 lb presentation, one for 4-6 lb light bass work without carrying a second rod.
Longest and heaviest spinning model in the lineup. At 7'4" MH, this steps into light inshore or heavier freshwater bass territory. The dual-tip here allows a step down to M for finesse presentations without having a dedicated medium rod on the deck.
