Benkei is Major Craft's mid-tier JDM bass rod sub-series, sold as a refreshed standard for the changing demands of pressured bass and modern technique work. The line covers both casting (BIC prefix) and spinning (BIS prefix) configurations under one technique umbrella. Blanks use a blend of high-elasticity and medium-elasticity carbon for sensitivity at the tip and operability through the lower section.

Components include Fuji Alconite K-frame guides, Fuji ESC reel seats, and EVA split grips. Made in Japan. The lineup totals 32 rods. Casting models (BIC-) cover 6'2" through 7' in UL through XH power, with technique suffixes /BF for Bait Finesse (sub-1/4 oz light lures), BB for Big Bait (1-3 oz swimbaits), and FR for Frog (heavy-cover topwater).

Spinning models (BIS-) run 6'3" through 6'8" in UL through ML power for finesse work; /SFS suffix denotes the Solid Tip / Spinning Finesse System with a glued-in carbon solid tip for shaky-head and micro-jig presentations.
