First Cast 2026
Major Craft's renewed sub-¥10,000 First Cast lure-rod range in seven families, from area trout and ajing to shore jigging and bass.
First Cast 2026 is the renewal of Major Craft's First Cast range, scheduled for release in October 2026. Six families cover area trout, ajing, light game, eging, seabass and shore jigging, 20 spinning models in all, and every model is priced under ¥10,000 (¥6,000 to ¥9,000 before tax). A seventh family of five bass models (three casting, two spinning, all with down-lock reel seats) follows in March 2027.
Major Craft states that the blanks use medium-modulus carbon as the main cloth and borrow design from its higher-grade models, and that the rods carry Fuji K-frame guides. All models are two-piece. The ajing, light game, seabass and area trout models use a down-lock reel seat; the eging and shore jigging models use an up-lock seat.
Model codes follow Major Craft's usual pattern: length in feet and inches, piece count, then power. A /S suffix marks a solid tip, /T a tubular tip, and /LSJ the light shore jigging models. The earlier First Cast generation (FCS and FCC model codes) is catalogued separately.
