The Hunters series is Monster Kiss's lineup of travel-ready multi-piece rods built for worldwide exotic fishing. Every model packs down to under 50 cm (just under 20 inches) in collapsed length, conforming to the company's Under Fifty Concept, which targets carry-on luggage compatibility for air travel. Blanks are purpose-designed for multi-piece construction using the Joint Protect Layering system, which reinforces both male and female ferrule sections with protective prepreg layers rather than simply cutting down a longer blank. Edge Guide Architecture places guides at blank section ends, using thread wraps to simultaneously reinforce the joints.

All Hunters rods use all double-foot guides (AWF), a deliberate choice favoring durability over the weight savings that single-foot guides offer. The lineup spans from the relatively light HT-6X Explorer at medium-heavy power to the extreme HT-infinity Game Changer, which carries lures up to 1000 g and PE-12 braid. Variable-length systems appear across the range, with the ICS-D12 interchangeable grip system on the HT-6/7 and HT-7x4S, and ICS-D13 shared with the Dear Monster series on the HT-6X and HT-7X.

Target species across the lineup include snakehead, peacock bass, barramundi, pike, taimen, giant trevally, and any large fish encountered while traveling. Prices are listed ex-tax in Japan and represent a mid-tier value point for the quality of construction. The HT-7x4S Backpacker is the only spinning model; the remaining four are casting configurations.

HT-infinity Casting · 6'2"-6'10" · XH+ · R action

The Game Changer carries lures up to 1000 g and PE-12 braid, making it one of the most extreme production travel rods available. Its power rating is listed as 'off-scale' (unstandard). Length adjusts via a removable front grip section adding roughly 8 inches. The rod is suited for bottom soaking, live-bait fishing, and trolling as well as giant swimbaits. Both tip and butt sections are described as equally stiff, resisting the conventional light-tip-heavy-butt split.

HT-7x4S Spinning · 5'8"-7'6" · M · RF action

The Backpacker is a four-stage variable-length spinning rod ranging from 5'8" to 7'6", with 12 total configuration modes when grip arrangements are included. It is the only spinning model in the Hunters lineup and unusually uses all double-foot guides. Collapse length is 49.5 cm. The ICS-D12 interchangeable grip system allows blank and grip swaps within Monster Kiss's D12-spec ecosystem, introduced in 2026.
