30-ton carbon jigging rods, QuickDrive and NaturalDrive, for nearshore and expedition pelagics
IRONRANGE is the brand's spinning-led jigging series for nearshore buri and hiramasa through expedition kanpachi and tuna, built on 30-ton unified-elasticity carbon that the brand describes as producing more torque the further it bends. The lineup splits by taper. QuickDrive models (662QD, 683QD, 5103QD, 5104QD) use a fast taper with added rebound for tight jig control from the tip section and underhand casting; NaturalDrive models (662ND, 683ND, 644ND) use a slower taper that suppresses initial input for dotera drift fishing and long-stroke one-pitch jerks on a high-gear reel.
The 6'6" two-power 662 pair handles 100 to 200 g jigs on PE1.5 to PE3 for shallow hiramasa and deeper buri; the 6'8" three-power 683 pair covers 100 to 200 g on PE2 to PE4 across Hokkaido to Kyushu. The 5'10" four-power 5104QD is the expedition model for 150 to 270 g jigs on PE2.5 to PE4 in 80 to 180 m of fast current, and the 6'4" 644ND is the drift specialist for the same line class. Two 5'10" bait models, 5103BQD and 5104BQD, suit 100 to 270 g jigs. All models use a detachable grip and pack to 1,200 to 1,400 mm; drag ratings are 6 to 7 kg at 45 degrees and rod weights 180 to 208 g. List prices ran 55,600 to 58,200 yen before tax. The series is absent from the current official rod menu and the 662ND and 683QD listings note a final spring 2023 production run, so it is a legacy line.
