Focal II

Focal is the brand's multi-purpose offshore casting rod, built around what Ocean's Legacy calls the Dual Combat concept: one rod for stickbaits, poppers, big minnows and soft plastics. The original Focal, on sale by 2021, ran five 1.5-piece spin models from 7 ft 2 in at PE2 to 7 ft 10 in at PE6, casting 20 to 120 g, with Fuji DPS 18 and DPS 20 reel seats with Fuji locking nuts and Fuji KW Alconite double-foot guides, and was tested off the south and north coasts of Western Australia on Spanish mackerel and tuna. The Focal II Series, listed in 2026 as a complete redesign, uses a refined Japanese Toray graphite blank with a more sensitive tip and more butt torque, longer lengths for casting distance, an optimised Fuji KW Alconite guide train and a Fuji DPS seat with custom locking nut. It extends the range to six models: 7 ft 6 in at PE2, 7 ft 7 in at PE3, 7 ft 8 in at PE4, 7 ft 9 in at PE5, 7 ft 10 in at PE6 and 7 ft 11 in at PE8. Prices are AUD 469.99 to 499.99.
