Battalion II

Battalion II is Penn's value-tier saltwater rod family covering three discrete techniques: slow pitch jigging (SPJ), inshore (IN), and surf (SF). The line is offered in spinning and conventional layouts, with model designators encoding sub-line, line/jig rating, action type (C or S), and length. Slow pitch jigging models use RCB2 construction, a rolled composite core wrapped in longitudinal glass that yields a thin, parabolic blank flexing from grip to tip.

Jig ratings span 100g, 250g, 350g, and 450g classes. Components include Fuji K guides with Alconite inserts (spiral-wrapped on conventional models), Fuji reel seats, and tapered EVA grips. Inshore models use SLC2 construction with inner spiral carbon wraps and outer longitudinal carbon, paired with Fuji Alconite guides, Fuji reel seats, and premium cork grips. Inshore powers cover ML through XH and lengths from 7'0" to 7'6", suited to redfish, snook, striper, and small to mid-size pelagics.

Surf builds reach 8' to 12' in spinning and trolling/conventional configurations with line ratings up to 25-50 lb and lure weights to 12 oz, intended for beach, jetty, and pier work on stripers, drum, and sharks.
