Squadron IV

Squadron IV is Penn's value-tier saltwater rod family, sitting under Carnage III and Battalion III in the lineup. The 39-rod matrix serves inshore, offshore, surf, and party-boat anglers who want a workhorse stick with brand-consistent components at an entry-to-mid price. Coverage spans light inshore spinning through 12-foot surf casters and heavy stand-up trolling blanks. Blanks are graphite composite on the inshore and surf sticks and fiberglass-reinforced graphite on the jigging and conventional boat models, giving the heavy-duty sub-lines the lifting power needed for vertical and trolling work.

All Squadron IV rods use Penn's one-piece Dura-Guides (no inserts to pop out under braid), a lightweight graphite reel seat, and high-density EVA grips. Gimbals on the trolling and surf conventionals are aluminum or rubber depending on class. Warranty is one year limited. The SKU code reads SQD + sub-line + IV + line/lure + length + C/S (casting/spinning). Sub-lines decode as IN (Inshore) for spotted seatrout, redfish, snook, and stripers; JG (Jigging) for vertical jigging and slow-pitch with heavy braided line; BW (Boat) for bottom fishing, drifting, and trolling from a deck; and SF (Surf) for long-distance beach casting from 8 to 12 feet.
