Spinning

Dedicated panfish spinning series from St. Croix, made in Park Falls, Wisconsin. Built for crappie, bluegill, perch, and trout anglers who want technique-specific action and sensitivity at the sub-mid-range price point. The series covers finesse jigging, slip-float rigs, drop-shotting, and longer-reach casting from docks or banks. Blanks are SCIII+ carbon fiber with Integrated Poly Curve tooling, Advanced Reinforcing Technology, and Taper Enhancement Technology.

Guides use stainless steel frames and inserts; handles are super-grade cork with split-grip configuration across five distinct handle styles. Prices run $225–$275; warranty is 15 years. All nine models are spinning; none are casting. Lineup spans 6'–9' with powers ranging UL through ML. The shorter 6'–7' models (handles 1–3) are primarily fast or extra-fast action for jigging and finesse presentations.

The two longest models. 8' and 9', both two-piece. Carry moderate-fast action and Light power with matching line/lure ratings, serving float-fishing and long-reach presentations like dock shooting or casting from bridges.

Deeper Dive

A closer look at notable models.

ASPS69MLXF Spinning · 6'9" · ML · XF action

Extra-fast tip at ML power covers a wider lure range (1/8–1/2 oz) than the UL siblings, useful for larger tube jigs, small spinners, or crappie swimbaits. The 6'9" length keeps it manageable on smaller water while the stiff tip aids hook penetration through braided or fluorocarbon setups.

ASPS80LMF2 Spinning · 8' · L · MF action

Two-piece, moderate-fast, 8', designed for float fishing and reach casting in still water or slow current. The softer tip cushions the strike and protects light tippets; the two-piece blank indicates travel or storage utility.

ASPS90LMF2 Spinning · 9' · L · MF action

Longest model in the series at 9', two-piece, matches the 8' sibling's specs exactly. The added length adds line-mending capability and long-line float control; less suited to tight cover or boat fishing. The same 1/16–1/4 oz lure range limits it to small jigs and bobbers.
