The St. Croix Avid Trek Casting is a 3-piece travel baitcasting rod for anglers who need full Avid-tier performance in a portable format. The series fits traveling bass and freshwater anglers who fish on the road and cannot bring a full-length 1-piece rod. The ATC66MF3 casting model covers a broad range of medium-power presentations including crankbaits, jerkbaits, and topwater, making it a practical all-purpose travel casting rod. The blank is premium high-modulus SCIII carbon, the same material used in St. Croix's standard Avid casting line.

IPC (Integrated Poly Curve) mandrel technology eliminates transition points at the ferrule junctions, maintaining consistent blank action across the 3-piece construction, a key distinction from lower-tier travel rods. Slim-profile ferrules minimize diameter at connection points. Hardware includes Sea Guide Hero Hi-Grade guides with zirconia rings and SS316 stainless gun smoke frames, a Fuji ECS reel seat with gun smoke hood, and a select-grade cork handle. Handcrafted in Park Falls, Wisconsin.

15-year transferable warranty. The Avid Trek series includes both spinning and casting rods ranging from 6'6" to 7'6". The casting lineup is anchored by the ATC66MF3 (6'6" M/F) and includes at least one MH/F variant (ATC66MHF3) at the same length. Multiple power options at 6'6" allow the traveler to cover finesse-to-medium presentations with a single rod length.

The M/F variant is the lighter-power casting option in the Trek casting lineup, suited for reaction baits and moderate-depth cranks. The 3/8–3/4 oz lure range is broad enough to cover most bass applications a traveling angler would encounter.
