GXR Walleye

Value-tier walleye spinning series from St. Croix, released in 2025 as part of the GXR combo system paired with SEVIIN reels. The target angler is a freshwater walleye specialist, primarily river and reservoir anglers, who wants technique-specific rod lengths and actions at a price point below the Avid or Legend walleye series. Named techniques in the lineup (vertical jig, snap jig, jig-n-rig, rigging) indicate this is a deliberate walleye jigging and rigging toolkit, outside the generic multi-species rod lane.

Blanks are SCII carbon fiber with Fortified Resin System, St. Croix's mid-grade blank material, a step below the SCV in the Legend Elite Panfish but significantly more refined than budget graphite. Guides are lightweight black stainless steel with aluminum oxide rings, functional and corrosion resistant. Full-grip premium-grade cork handles with EVA accents. Standard 1-piece construction except the GXRS66MF2-C (Big Water, 2-piece for transport). These are sold as standalone rods or as combos with 3000-size SEVIIN GXR spinning reels.

Five spinning models, Casting variants is absent. Lengths from 6'3" to 7'. Power runs ML to M. Three models carry XF actions for direct-contact jigging and two carry F actions for rigging and finesse presentations. The GXRS63MXF-C (6'3" M XF) is designated for vertical jigging in current; the GXRS70MLF-C (7' ML F) covers long-line rigging where rod length assists hook set across distance.
