The Legend Tournament Bass is St. Croix's upper-tier production bass series, one step below the Legend X2 flagship. It uses SCIV+ carbon fiber blanks with Fortified Resin System (FRS) and Advanced Reinforcing Technology (ART), claimed to deliver 33% greater strength than standard resin construction. Select cranking models use an SCIV+ hybrid with internally active Linear S-Glass (iAct Glass) for the parabolic load profile preferred in crankbait fishing. The 15-year transferable warranty applies. Fuji K-Series tangle-free guides with Alconite inserts are fitted throughout.
Lighter than Fuji standard but a step below the Torzite/titanium hardware on the Legend X2. Fuji reel seats are technique-matched, with super-grade cork handles customized per model for ergonomic fit to designated applications. IPC and TET tooling improve blank consistency and sensitivity. The retail price sits above the Victory and below the Legend X2, generally in the $300–$450 range. The 22-model lineup spans 6'8"–7'11" in 14 casting and 8 spinning configurations. Casting models dominate and cover H through M power with a variety of action choices.
M, MF, XF, and F. Reflecting technique-specific builds for cranking, swimbaiting, jig fishing, and flipping. Spinning models mirror the Victory and Legend X2 in made for finesse applications: 6'8"–7'10" in ML–MH power with XF and MF actions for drop shot, ned rig, and finesse jigs. The LBTC711HMF at 7'11" H/MF is the heaviest and longest model, suited to big swimbait and heavy flipping applications.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
H power with medium action is the crankbait build. The iAct S-Glass hybrid blank is likely applied here. The moderate load arc prevents ripping treble hooks free during the fight and keeps the rod loaded properly on a long crank retrieve.
M/M action at 7'2" addresses finesse moving baits. Shallower-diving crankbaits and medium-depth squarebills on lighter line where an M-action blank provides the right compression without over-powering the bait.
Longest spinning model at 7'10" ML/XF. Extends finesse drop shot and ned rig range to the maximum practical limit for tournament fishing situations where distance from the fish is the primary variable.
Longest and heaviest model at 7'11" H/MF. Line ceiling of 80lb and lure range to 2.5oz target big swimbaits and heavy cover flipping. The MF action softens the tip enough to absorb strikes on large bait presentations without sacrificing hook-drive.
