The Legend Tournament Pike is St. Croix's top-tier casting rod series built specifically for pike and muskie anglers in North America and Europe. All 12 models are technique-specific casting rods spanning 7'0" to 8'6" with power ratings from MH through XXH, made for competitive-level anglers made for large toothy fish with heavy lures, topwaters, rubber swimbaits, and large jerkbaits. Lure weights top out at 300 oz (listed in oz, European metric convention) on the heaviest model. Blanks use St. Croix's SCIV+ hybrid carbon material, a blend of high-modulus SCIV and ultra-high-modulus SCVI carbon fiber, which reduces weight while maintaining lifting power for large lures.
IPC (Integrated Poly Curve) mandrel technology eliminates transitional stress points in the blank. Select two-piece models (F2 suffix) use the same blank profile as their 1-piece counterparts. Technique-specific component choices, ergonomics, and action taper vary by model to match specific presentation styles. Handcrafted in Park Falls, Wisconsin, USA. Backed by St. Croix's 15-year transferable warranty and Superstar Service program. The lineup runs from 7' models (LTPC213 prefix, MH and XH power) for standard pike casting, through 7'1", 7'4", 7'9", 7'10", 7'11", 8', and 8'6" lengths covering progressively heavier applications.
The 7'9" LTPC236XXHMF2 and 8'6" LTPC259XXHFT are the heaviest at XXH power, the latter rated to 300 oz lure weight for large rubber baits and big swimbaits. Two-piece variants (F2/T suffix) match their 1-piece counterparts and serve travel use.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
XH power with Extra-Fast action at 7', a hybrid combination suited to large topwaters and jerkbaits that need a quick, powerful snap to trigger pike. Extra-Fast taper improves lure animation on aggressive retrieves.
XXH power in a Moderate-Fast taper at 7'9"; designed for heavy rubber swimbaits and large gliders. The slower tip loads evenly under large bait weight and absorbs head shakes without throwing hooks.
The only Moderate-action model in the series. H power with Moderate taper at 7'11" is configured for crankbaits and reaction lures where a full-flex blank reduces fish-throwing on treble hooks.
The heaviest model in the series: 8'6", XXH, rated to 300 oz (upper limit in the lineup). Specialized for the largest rubber lures and magnum swimbaits. The T designation suggests a specific technique variant build.
