The two models in this batch are named and tuned for specific techniques, Hair Jig and Swimming Baits, following St. Croix's technique-specific rod philosophy. Blanks are built on SCIII carbon fiber with St. Croix's Fortified Resin System for strength and sensitivity. The Trigon series distinguishes itself with a triangular cross-section reel seat grip shaped around anthropometric data of the human hand, the grip conforms to the hand's natural closed position, reducing fatigue during extended sessions. Stainless steel guide frames with aluminum oxide rings are specified. Agglomerated cork is used for the split grips. Rods are built in Park Falls, Wisconsin. The two models share a 7'10" length and 6-20 lb line range but differ in power and action.
The JOS710MLXF (Hair Jig) is Medium-Light power with Extra-Fast action for high-sensitivity presentations with 1/16-3/8 oz jigs, drop shots, and small finesse baits on forward-facing sonar. The JOS710MMF (Swimming Baits) is Medium power with Moderate-Fast action, a softer bend suited to treble-hook lures, swimbaits, spybaits, and cranks where a faster tip would pull hooks on fish.

All 2 modelsDesignated the Hair Jig model by St. Croix. The Extra-Fast action and ML power combination maximizes sensitivity and hookset speed for small jigs and finesse baits. Also documented as effective for drop shots and small presentations targeted with forward-facing sonar, where bite detection speed is critical.
Designated the Swimming Baits model by St. Croix. Moderate-Fast action absorbs the load from treble-hooked lures on the fight, reducing pull-off rates. Suited to swimbaits, spybaits, spinhead jigs, and shallow-to-medium crankbaits where a stiffer tip would lose fish. Also noted as a forward-facing sonar rod for larger moving baits.
