The Mojo Inshore is St. Croix's mid-range saltwater inshore series, based on SCIII carbon and Integrated Poly Curve (IPC) mandrel technology. It targets species common to shallow coastal systems. Redfish, snook, speckled trout, flounder. Across a wide range of presentations from light inshore finesse to heavier nearshore work. The price point (roughly $160–$230) positions it below the Avid Inshore but above entry-level saltwater rods. Blanks use SCIII graphite.
Guides are Sea Guide Hero Hi-Grad with aluminum oxide rings and SS316 stainless frames, specified for corrosion resistance in saltwater. Fuji reel seats and Kigan hook keepers are standard. The blank is designed in Park Falls, Wisconsin, and assembled in Mexico. The 5-year warranty is shorter than the Avid's 15-year coverage. Actions run predominantly fast, with a handful of medium and medium-fast variants for softer techniques like live lining and crabbing.
The 23-model lineup covers 6'6"–7'11" and is predominantly spinning (16 models) with 7 casting models. Spinning rods span L through H power; casting rods span ML through H. Three rods reach the 7'11" length, made for surf-adjacent inshore situations or long-distance flats presentations. The JIC70MLM casting model stands out with a medium action. Suited to live bait and natural presentation techniques where fast action would create too much resistance.
Deeper Dive
A closer look at notable models.
The only medium-action casting model in the series. ML/M combination is suited to live shrimp, soft plastics on a slow drift, or light jig presentations where a fast tip would over-work the bait.
MH power with medium action. An unusual pairing that addresses live bait or cut bait presentations needing backbone for hook sets without a tip that telegraphs unnatural movement to the fish.
Longest and heaviest-powered spinning model at 7'11" H. Line to 40lb and lure to 3oz push this toward nearshore or surf-inshore boundary use. Tarpon, large jack crevalle, or heavier flounder rigs.
Casting counterpart to the 7'11" spinning model. Medium-fast action at H power with 40lb line capacity suits heavy plugs or live bait applications from a boat where casting distance and shock absorption both matter.
