The St. Croix Premier Musky Spinning series is a two-rod musky-focused lineup built for spinning reel users made for muskellunge with large lures. Musky fishing demands heavy-duty spinning gear capable of casting 1–5oz baits, bucktails, glide baits, large soft plastics, over extended sessions while withstanding the shock loads of a large musky strike. The Premier series positions these rods as accessible USA-built musky tools within the St. Croix lineup, below the higher-end Avid or Legend tiers.
Both models use SCII carbon blanks, St. Croix's baseline high-modulus graphite construction, which provides sufficient strength and sensitivity at a moderate price relative to SCIII or SCV blanks. Kigan Master Hand 3D guides with slim aluminum-oxide rings and black frames reduce weight and line friction during the long casts required for musky fishing. A Fuji DPS reel seat with frosted silver hoods locks heavy spinning reels securely. Premium-grade cork handles are full-length to provide leverage on large fish.
Backed by St. Croix's 5-year warranty. Both rods are 8'0" fast-action spinning models sharing the same 30–65lb line rating but differing in power and lure weight ceiling. The PMS80MHF is MH power (3/4–3oz) for mid-range musky lures and smaller bucktails. The PMS80HF is H power (1–5oz) for heavier glide baits, large soft plastics, and deep-diving jerkbaits. Price sits in the mid tier for USA-built musky spinning rods.

A closer look at notable models.
The H-power model handles the heaviest musky presentations, 3oz+ gliders, large rubber swimbaits, and deep-water jigs on 50–65lb braid. The extra backbone aids in driving large trebles or single hooks into the bony jaws of big muskellunge at range.
